London to Geneva by Private Jet for Ski Season: Costs and Sharing

Geneva is the main gateway to the Alps. Every winter weekend, private jets fly skiers from London to Geneva for Courchevel, Méribel, Verbier, Chamonix and Val d'Isère. Skis and boot bags fit more easily on a private jet than on an airline, and you skip the busy terminal on a winter Saturday.

    Flight time and airports

London to Geneva takes about 1 hour 30 minutes in a light jet. Departures run from Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Luton and Stansted. Geneva Airport (GVA) has a busy private aviation terminal. Sion (SIR) is closer to Verbier and Crans-Montana, and Chambéry (CMF) is closer to the Three Valleys.

    What a whole charter costs

Indicative one-way prices for the whole aircraft: turboprop from about £6,400, very light jet from about £7,000, light jet from about £8,400, super light jet from about £10,300, midsize jet from about £12,400. Christmas, New Year and February half-term are the most expensive weeks.

Your share when you split a charter

A light jet seats about six. Split £8,400 six ways and each skier pays about £1,400. A turboprop shared six ways is closer to £1,070 each.

Getting from Geneva to the resort

Jets can't land at Courchevel altiport. It is reserved for specially certified pilots and aircraft, mainly helicopters. From Geneva, a helicopter to Courchevel takes about 30 to 35 minutes and costs around €1,800 to €3,500+. A private car takes 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours and costs around €300 to €600+. Sharing the transfer with your flight group cuts this cost too.

Best times to share this route
